What makes a mushroom "functional"?
“Functional” is a common term used to describe mushrooms that offer health-supportive properties beyond basic nutrition. While even common grocery store mushrooms contain beneficial compounds like beta-glucans, functional mushrooms like reishi, lion’s mane, turkey tail, and maitake each contain unique compounds in high concentrations—and are more widely studied for their therapeutic potential.
What is a tincture?
A tincture is a liquid extract made with over 20% alcohol. Our tinctures contain 25–35% organic sugar cane alcohol, which not only extracts key bioactive compounds (like triterpenes) but also serves as a natural preservative—ensuring a long shelf life without refrigeration.
How do I take liquid mushroom supplements?
You can take our tinctures directly under your tongue or mix them into water, juice, coffee, tea, or smoothies. We suggest starting with a few ounces of water for convenience, then exploring what works best for your routine. More guidance is available on our How to Use Mushroom Tinctures page. Highest bioavailability is achieved when taken on an empty stomach.
Can I combine your products?
Yes! We recommend starting with one product—like The Foundation, our full-spectrum blended formula—for one week to gauge your response. From there, you can add additional tinctures to target specific needs. Find more suggestions on our How to Use page.
How should I store my Druzy Fusion supplements?
Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. No refrigeration is necessary.
How long until I see results?
Every body is different. Some people notice benefits in just a few days, while others may need several weeks of consistent use. On average, many users report changes within the first 2–4 weeks. For best results, we recommend daily use for at least 90 days—and tuning in to how your body responds along the way.
Why do you use alcohol in your extraction process?
Alcohol is a powerful and time-tested extraction medium. It’s essential for pulling out alcohol-soluble compounds—especially from tougher mushrooms like reishi and turkey tail—and it helps preserve the extract naturally. While research is ongoing, we know that mushrooms contain many synergistic compounds, and whole-fruiting body extractions with alcohol, water, and pressure provide the most complete spectrum of benefits. This method supports what some researchers call the “entourage effect.” Combining these extraction methods enables us to pull out the full spectrum of active compounds.
What if I can't have alcohol?
You can easily remove most of the alcohol from your tincture:
1. Add your dose to a cup or mug.
2. Pour in 2–3 oz of boiling water.
3. Let it sit uncovered for 5 minutes.
As the water cools, the alcohol will evaporate—leaving you with the active extract.
Are your products grain-free?
Yes. We use only the fruiting body of the mushroom—no mycelium, grain, or filler ingredients. We use organic sugar cane alcohol as an extraction medium, it is never derived from wheat or corn.
What is an adaptogen?
Adaptogens are herbs or fungi that help the body adapt to physical, emotional, or environmental stress. They work by supporting balance in various systems, especially those affected by chronic stress. Red Reishi is one of the few mushrooms considered to be a true adaptogen.
What is a nootropic?
Nootropics are compounds known to support cognitive performance—such as memory, focus, and mental clarity. Lion’s mane is classified as a natural nootropic.
Can I give mushroom supplements to my pets?
Many people (including us!) use mushroom extracts to support pet wellness, but we recommend speaking with your veterinarian before introducing any supplement. If your vet approves, you can remove the alcohol as described above before administering.
Can children take mushroom supplements?
Generally, yes, assuming the child does not have a mushroom sensitivity. We recommend consulting your pediatrician before giving any herbal or mushroom supplement to children under 16.
